About Us

NimbusID® is the creator of CognitiveID, a user authentication credential for the protection and integrity of software applications and platforms around the world, with patent (# PTO-C-2020-0055-0174, dated August 2014) by Alex Natividad, MD. Alex is a psychiatrist who invented the only credential you will ever need. Where passwords rely on short term memory, CognitiveID relies on multiple memories that already exist, and are rooted and related in multiple parts of the brain. It can serve as the first factor, the second factor, or the only factor. When used with a smart phone, a CognitiveID is expressed with just 3 quick taps of a finger.

Introduction

NimbusID® is a software development organization, animating Dr. Natividad’s insights to create the ultimate credential branded as CognitiveID. Our downstream developers integrate the CognitiveID code with helpful components as:

  • A public API, SAML compliant and support for secure email. It is scalable and can work with SMS providers (e.g. Twilio).
  • An extensible, standardized secure API for integration with systems.
  • Support for authentication to SaaS, OnPrem, SASE, full Integration or bolt-on deployments through Single Sign-on.
  • An admin dashboard to manage and customize for white-label integrations

These components make it easy for our customers to embed CognitiveID by making them accessible and secure. Our staff is ready to assist development teams who are implementing technologies for internal users and external customers.

NimbusID® licenses CognitiveID in various configurations with various sets of functionalities. They range from licensed patent rights with no developed software, to its own hosted cloud deployment and application of the CognitiveID credential, ready for use by groups, small and large.

Problem We Solve

Our industry’s use of passwords to authenticate identity is a large and troublesome problem. For example, as of February 2021 more than 3.2 billion passwords have been used and compromised, and should not be used again. Therein lies the problem since new and pristine passwords are becoming harder to create, more difficult to remember, and gets worse each day.

NimbusID® solves the “password problem” with CognitiveID, which includes eliminating traditional forms of passwords and passphrases. Each person has many of their own, unique to them and remains theirs for life. It is stored in their brain and can be readily communicated with a few mouse clicks. Password generators and password safes become less significant.

Before authorizing rights to data, NimbusID’s ideal credential authenticates the identity of the user to the system. This creates a foundation for the future of SASE.

CognitiveID enables industry stakeholders to know when it is their user who is authorized to access any system, and when it is not their user attempting to do damage. CognitiveID makes life simpler for each stakeholder as it increases the perfection of proper identity and enables reliable role-based authorizations. Once CognitiveID becomes the “standard” credential for authenticating identity, industry stakeholders have more time to attend to other software services (viz. SASE) that secure their systems and data.

Leadership

Alex Natividad, MD, the inventor and patent holder, as CEO spent 30 years studying and applying neuroanatomy, cognition and memory. These scientific and medical pursuits led him to discover several physical attributes of natural memories that are aggregated and disaggregated as an ideal credential for authenticating identity. Dr. Natividad shared his patent with two prominent cybersecurity technologists, Kevin Eales and Brian Clinkenbeard, who now serve as Co-Founder and CTO, and CIO/Director of Security, respectively.
